Yoom-e-Ashoora observed in Leh with great religious fervor | | Leh,September 20 (Scoop News)- Yoom-e-Ashoora was observed in Leh today with great religious fervor by the Shia community of Ladakh. Thousands of people across Leh district took part in the Ashoora procession that begun from Chutey-ranthak Masjid with Noha Khwani recitation passing through Leh main market and culminated at Imam Bara Leh. The religious leaders addressing to the huge gathering at both the Masjid Chutey-ranthak and Imam Bara threw lights on the importance of the teachings of Imam Hussain and said that Ashoora symbolizes the struggle against cruelty, injustice and oppression of Yazeed. They said that Imam Hussain achieved martyrdom because of his devotion to the eternal truth. Yoom-e-Ashoora is a day of mourning and remembering the greatest sacrifice of Imam Husain to safeguard the religion of Islam and Islamic principles from Yazeed who wanted to destroy it.
