Martyred BSF personnel’s mutilated body recovered nearly 50 metres inside Pakistan territory, multiple cuts
deep gash on neck, three bullet marks on body, blood stains confirm body dragged to other side

Ramgarh Sector, September 21, (Scoop News)-The mutilated body of Border Security Force (BSF) head constable, Narender Singh, was recovered nearly 50 meters inside Pakistan territory as Battalion Action Team (BAT) men had abducted, tortured and killed him on their side.

According to well informed sources, it was during extensive joint search operations by BSF personnel and Pakistan Rangers on both sides of the border that the body of Narinder Singh with multiple cuts and a deep gash on his neck besides three bullet marks was found lying in a pool of blood.

On Tuesday, a BSF party including late Singh was assigned to get elephant grass removed from the area outside the border fence as it was blocking the view of sentries on duty inside the border outposts, the sources said adding it (grass) had grown in height and was taller than human beings.

“It was becoming impossible to monitor the activities on the other side of the border besides detect any suspicious movement of anti national elements along the border,” they added.

They said during clearing the area of sarkandas, Pakistan Rangers opened fire, the BSF personnel returned to their nearby borer outpost. However, Narinder Singh didn’t return causing anxiety among his colleagues. Suppressing their anger, Indian border guards didn’t respond to Pak firing then as they were expecting safe return of late Singh.

In the meantime, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Frontier BSF tried to contact his counterpart sector commander in Pakistan on dedicated hotline. He was not immediately available on phone, however, he called back in the evening and assured cooperation in locating the missing trooper and there would be no firing from his side.

They said this was followed by a flag meeting between the two sides in which BSF insisted for a joint search operation to which Pakistan Rangers agreed. It was during this operation, late Singh’s helmet and cap was found. A trail of blood stains led to the body which appeared to have been dragged from some distance, nearly 50 meters inside Pakistan territory, the sources said.

The Pakistan Rangers denied their involvement in the incident. The BSF officials present in the flag meeting told Pakistan Rangers that the act was unacceptable and was in contravention of Geneva Convention.

Incidentally, three Pakistani terrorists who were gunned down on September 13 in a day long encounter near Jajjar Kotli and Kakryal area in Jammu region had crossed from other side of the border to this side in the same district taking advantage of tall elephant grass (Sarkanda)

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, has directed BSF to take strongest possible action against the perpetrators (Pakistan Rangers) responsible for Tuesday’s incident.
