Gujjar youth to play big role to reform nomadic tribes

Anantnag,October 14 (Scoop News)-Maintaining that Gujjar and Bakerwal youth have to play a bigger role in reformation particularly the nomadic society - the participants of on day tribal Youth meet held at Sminar Hall of Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel here today . -stated that community youth are capable enough to play key role in tribal development and identity building in the state.
Organised by the management of Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel under the aggies of Tribal Affairs department of Jammu and Kashmir- the programme was presided over by noted Gujjar scholar Dr. Javaid Rahi while renowned Gojri writer Ch Rafaqat Gazi was in the presidium.
Dr. Javaid Rahi in his presidential address stated that Gujjar and Bakerwal youth are emerging as a main pressure group in the society with regard to community affairs and other issues .He impressed upon the young generation belongs to Gujjar-Bakerwal tribes to monitor government scheme/programme as well as the same are meant by state and union government for their development.
He stated that tribal youth are actively working for identity consciousness among Gujjars and Bakerwals and its all-round development. They are capable enough to lead our tribe towards high goals , He said and added that our tribe has produced able administrators, IAS,KAS officers, politicians , writer, artist , engineer , doctors and academicians who have shaped Gujjars -as vibrant identity of state.
Earlier Welcoming the Guests Forum president Chowdhary Rafaqat Ali Warden Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel stated that main objective of organising this event will be to guide upcoming youth how te excel in educational field.
The youth also spoke on the occasion and said joint efforts are required to achieve goals of empowerment of tribes.
They stated that only Education can play a key role in tribal development. He said more educational institution are required for Gujjar and Bakerwal students in Anantanag and adjoining areas.
The students stated more such meets are required to disseminate cultural coordination and will help in improving a sense of identity consciousness among tribe and such programme are necessary to make aware the tribe about their rights.
