Hirdesh Kumar reviews progress of power schemes in Anantnag, Kulgam
30 transformers sanctioned as buffer stock for twins districts
Anantnag, October 18 (Scoop News)- The Commissioner Secretary Power Development Department, Hirdesh Kumar reviewed the progress achieved under Saubhgya, DDUY, PMDP and other power schemes in Anantnag and Kulgam districts here today.
District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik, Chief Engineer, M&RE, Qazi Hashmat, Chief Engineer Projects Wing, Naseer Ahmad, SE Anantnag /Kulgam, Xens of Anantnag, Kulgam, Bijbehara, AEEs and JEEs of the PDD Anantnag/Kulgam other officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that in Anantnag district, 2402 families have been identified who are yet to be provided electricity connections. The officials assured the chair that under the said scheme the habitations will be covered by the end of October, 2018 and in this regard 50% material has already been received by the district. The Chief Engineer M&RE informed the meeting informed that 70% infrastructure including transformers, LT, HT, Conductor and Poles under Saubhagya scheme has been provided to the districts.
The Secretary said that Soubhagya scheme has been launched to plug various gaps and comprehensively address the issues of entry barrier, last mile connectivity and release of electricity connections to all un-electrified households in rural and urban areas. He directed the SE PDD and Xens to ensure uploading of all connections upto the 31st of October 2018.
The Power Commissioner sanctioned 63KV 30 Transformers-10 Transformers for Kulgam district, 10 for Bijbehara Sub-Division and 10 for Anantnag Sub-Division under buffer stock for winter. He also directed the SE to submit the project of underground cabling of Base Camp Nunwan and Chandanwari for which additional funds will be provided. The cabling work must be completed before the commencement of Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2019.
