| INC wins all the 13 wards seats in Municipal Committee Election in Leh | | 
Leh(Ladakh), October 20 (Scoop News)- Indian National Congress recorded a momentous victory with a complete swipe over the 13 wards in the first time held Municipal Committee Elections in Leh with the results declared after counting begin in the morning at EJM College, Leh today. The result was declared by Deputy Commissioner/District Election Officer Avny Lavasa in presence of all the contesting candidates.
After 13 years the elections for Municipal Committee is being conducted in the state of J&K and for the first time in Leh district. In Leh 29 candidates including 19 males and 10 females contested for the 13 wards of Municipal Leh in which 4 seats were reserved for women namely Shenam, Sankar, Skampari and Murtsey municipal wards. Other then 13 candidates each from INC and BJP, 3 independent candidates also contested in the election. PDP and NC have boycotted the MC Elections across the state.
In Leh the MC election was held on 8th October during which 54.2 percent electorates had exercised their voting right at 21 polling stations that counts to 7810 voters with 3,780 male and 4,030 female voters out of total 14401 voters in Leh municipal area.
The entire 13 wards seats were won by the candidates of INC party namely Stanzin Norboo-Gongpa/Gangles, Tsering Angmo-Sankar/Yurtung, Deldan Gawa Otsal-Chanspa-Karzoo, Ishey Namgyal-Tukcha, Yangchan Dolma-Shenam, Stanzin Dawa-Skara, Chewang Norboo-Skalzangling, Rinchen Dolkar-Murtse, Skalzang Namgyal-Housing Colony B, Stanzin Jungnas-Housing Colony A, Konchok Sangrup-Maney Tsilding, Shazia Bano-Skampari and Mohd Din Khan-Zangsti/Skynos.
