Congress is only unifying force in all regions of J&K:Mir
Jammu, December 10, (Scoop News)-Describing the Congress Party, as the only secular and unifying force in the Country and state, president JKPCC, G.A. Mir, said that Congress Party has always strengthened the secularism and it will continue to safeguard the secular fabric of the Country and state.



He said Congress Party will defeat the designs of communal & divisive forces creating atmosphere of discord and will not allow them to play with the emotions of people for political gains.



Mir was speaking in a function held at party office at Jammu to felicitate the newly elected Corporators and Councilors of Jammu Division. He said that Congress party has always stood for equitable development of all regions and strengthening of democratic institutions at all levels for devolution of powers to the people for their better participation in the governance.



The function was also addressed by Congress leaders including Mula Ram and Raman Bhalla, Th. Manmohan Singh, Rajnish Sharma, Shakeel Mir, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Krishan Chander Bagat, Vikram Malhotra, Hari Singh Chib, Farooq Katoch, Sheikh Mujeeb, Kewal Singh, Ch. Ghani and others.



PCC chief said that Congress party has emerged a vibrant force in all regions of the state and there is positive change in the mindset and the mood of the people because of the policies and programmes of the Congress party.



He said that his perception and understanding of the situation is that Congress would emerge as the largest party in the next assembly elections.



Mir said that Congress party in the state struggled for the implementation of the provision of 73rd and 74th amendments in the state to fully empower the PRIs in the state and finally it succeeded bringing its alliance partner on board to amend the state Panchayat Raj Act in March 2014.



He expressed great satisfaction that Congress succeeded in its mission and the present election in the state to the PRIs has been held as per 73rd and 74th amendment. It is the result of amended law that women have got 33% reservation at all tiers of PRIs in the state besides to SCs and STs.



PCC chief disclosed that all the elected members as well as those who gave tough fight to the opposition candidate in these elections would be given due representation in the organizational committees like and districts, Blocks and Booth level Committees.



He asked them to work hard to further strengthen the party at the grass root level in their respective areas.



Mula Ram in his address said that people should not get carried away by the negative forces who are trying to create division and hatred which is dangerous for the broader interests of the state and the nation.



He said that Congress party is a vibrant force in the State capable of defeating the BJP RSS and other forces hell bent upon to divide people on regional and religious lines in order to serve their vested interests.



Addressing the meeting, Raman Bhalla hit out at the BJP for misleading people on every count said that the foundation of the country has been laid on secular ideals and harmony amongst different sections keeping in view of the pluralistic character of the nation and those spreading hatred are weakening the nation.



He urged people to defeat the designs of such forces who can disturb and destroy the secular fabric of our nation. He added that BJP will never succeed to implement their communal and divisive agenda neither in the country nor in the State. ...
