Prerna to debut in a Bollywood short film based on plight of Kashmiri Pandits


Jammu, December 11, (Scoop News)-Due to her acting prowess, Prerna Bhat (20), a displaced Kashmiri Pandit girl, has made her Bollywood debut with a short film, ’Community in Exile’.

She wanted to project the trauma and torment the community had undergone through a medium of a film. Prerna was a child when she was forced to leave her native place along with her family nearly three decades ago.

She grew up while overhearing woeful experiences of other community members and now she wants to put her personal experiences with her talent in the film by depicting barbarity and collywobbles her community underwent then.

Since she has been appearing in lead roles in several TV serials being telecast on various national channel, Prerna had to endeavour and compete In the Bollywood to create a place for herself in the tinsel world.

Till now she had displayed her talent in popular TV shows like Meetha Meetha, Savdhaan India, CID and Pyar Ka Dard besides feature films including Future toh Bright hai, Singh Saab the Great and Grand Masti.

These days Prerna is seen in a Star Plus serial ‘Mariam Khan Reporting Live’.

In normal situation Prerna would have been pursuing some other career but due to displacement from the valley she had to choose a profession where she would be able to display her talent.

Prerna, residing at Janipur in Jammu, launched her career with small roles in TV serials and advertisements for her sustenance till she got a major breakthrough in a serial ‘Crime Patrol’ as a super cop.
