Three displaced KP families wrangling over the possession of a flat at Jagti,
allege greasing of palm of officials in RO’s office.


Jagti, December 11, (Scoop News)-Three displaced Kashmiri Pandit families are at loggerheads with each other over the possession of a flat in migrant housing colony at Jagti Interestingly, all the three families are claiming the possession of official allotment orders.

The original allotment was made in the name of Dilip Raina by the Office of Relief Organisation (Migrant) but Chand Jee Zadoo and one more family were occupying the said two room set for past couple of years.

Surprisingly, of the three families, two allege that they had paid money to concerned officials working in the RO for providing allotment letters in their favour. After media attention focused on the issue, the RO’s office swung into action and filed a complaint with the police besides ordering an internal inquiry.

The facts will emerge only after the investigation is completed, said official sources, requesting not to be named.

Two families who were sharing a two room flat in a block was sealed by the officials of RO sometime back but in the meantime a third family surfaced and claimed the allotment order of the flat.

The sources asserted that there is a tacit understanding between activists/ touts and the officials of the RO. They (touts) clandestinely broker the properties between a buyer and the seller. The flats were allotted to Kashmiri Pandit families who got uprooted from their mornings following armed Islamist upsurge in the valley nearly three decades ago. ...
