| Kargil gets state of art snow clearance machines | | Feroz Khan welcomes augmentation move |
Kargil, December 11 (Scoop News)- Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today welcomed the procurement of new state- of –art -snow clearance machines and said it will strengthen the snow clearance and rescue operations in the district.
Appreciating the Mechanical Department Kargil for having procured new snow clearance machinery especially three Back Hoe Loaders and three Front End Loaders, the CEC said that the new machinery will augment snow clearance operations on the Kargil -Zanskar National Highway and other vital link roads in the Kargil district.
The machines have been procured at a cost of Rs 1 Crore 77 lakhs
Superintending Engineer, Mechanical Circle Ladakh Om Parkash besides engineers and staff members of Mechanical Department Kargil were present on the occasion.
Feroz Khan also appreciated the efforts of the engineers, technicians, laborers and other concerned staff for their tireless efforts in the snow clearance works in the district especially on Kargil Srinagar and Kargil Zanskar Road.
The CEC assured the staff members particularly the casual staff that all their genuine demands including the payment of wages would be considered on priority and addressed appropriately in a phased manner.
He said that the Hill Council is fully conscious of the issues of the casual workers working in different departments in the district and efforts will be made to redress them on priority adding that the issue has already been taken up with the Ladakh Affairs Department.
