CEC, LAHDC inaugurates Ladakhi Kitchen
Also releases a guide book on old town Leh

Leh, December 14 (Scoop News)-CEC, LAHDC Jamyang Tsering Namgyal inaugurated Ladakhi Kitchen after completion of its restoration works done by Leh Development authority through INTACH Chapter Leh in New Shahar Street, Leh. A guide book on old town Leh heritage walk was also released by CEC on the occasion.
EC Health, Tsering Sandup, DC Leh Avny Lavasa, Councilor Lower Leh P. Wangldan, CEO LDA Zaida bano, AD Tourism Tsering Angmo, Convener and executive members of INTACH Chapter Leh.
Speaking on the occasion CEC, JTN said that restoration of ancient buildings like Basti Haveli is not just revival of culture but it brings alive the evidence of history and reminds us of original Ladakh. He appreciated the idea, efforts and spirit of EC Health Tsering Sandup who earlier hold the profile of Tourism, CEO LDA, Dr. Zaida Bano, NGOs involved like INTACH and LAMO and other volunteers for successful restoration with reuse purpose of Basti Haveli now called Ladakhi Kitchen.
CEC stressed on making meaningful utilisation of Ladakhi Kitchen without having any commercial motive. He asked to look for sustainable ways to run and manage the place by taking related projects with volunteering spirit having long term vision. He gave assurance to extend support of Hill Council in purposeful restoration and preservation of ancient architect, tradition and culture.
EC Health Tsering Sandup also spoke on the occasion and gave brief information about the tourism related projects taken during his tenure as EC Tourism. He mentioned about a tourism policy needed to take up relevant projects for heritage conservation and preservation. He credited Dr. Zaida Bano for her initiatives and hard work in conception and implementation of the projects. He also credited LAMO and INTACH for their well thought project proposals and sincerity in timely and quality completion of the projects.
Convener INTACH Leh Chapter Tsering Angchuk briefed the gathering about the execution of Ladakhi Kitchen and also urged to restructure the adjoining area in traditional way to enhance the heritage value of old town, Leh.
Earlier, CEC inaugurated the shopping complex of Leh Development Authority at Katmoche near Indoor Stadium, Leh.
