SLSA organizes an “Orientation Programme for Para Legal Volunteers” | | Leh,December 14 (Scoop News)-In accordance to the calendar of J&K State Legal Service authority (SLSA) under its auspicious and under the chairmanship of Chairman, District Legal authority, Leh Shri Ranbir Singh Jasrotia ( Principal District & Session Judge, Leh), DLSA, Leh, an “Orientation Programme for Para Legal Volunteers” (PLV) of District Leh was organized today, at District Court Complex.
The programme started with welcome speech by Phuntsog Angmo ( Munsiff Khaltsi). During the course of programme, R S Jasrotia ( Principal District & Session Judge, Leh) addressed the gathering explaining at length the role and duties of PLVs. In his address he said that PLVs are the bridge facilitating particularly the marginalized sections of the society to make them aware of their rights and to make them avail the same. The PLVs being closely connected to the people at grassroot level are expected to make the needy aware about their rights and welfare schemes floated for them by the Govt. And if in case of violation of rights or in case of non accessibility or denial of welfare scheme by concerned authority/ Department, they can directly approach them for redressal of the grievances or bring the matter to the notice of DLSA or TLSC for its redressal. Spalzes Angmo ( Secretary DLSA Leh) acquainted the PLVs with the object and provisions of Legal Service Authority Act, and the benefits of ADR (Alternate Dispute Resolution) and Lok Adalat. Tsewang Phuntsog ( Munsiff) Chairman, TLSC, Nobra briefed the PLVs about the rights of child and women. Likewise, Bar President, Leh, Advocate Mohd. Shafi spoke on fundamental rights while Advocate Tasaduq Abidi spoke on fundamental duties.
At the end of the programme, Phuntsog Angmo ( Munsiff Khaltsi) extended vote of thanks. ... |
