Congress mourns death of seven persons in a road mishap near Reasi


Jammu, December 15, (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKCC) has mourned the death of seven persons including three children who were killed besides three others injured in a road mishap, when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Damasgali Bhomag area of Reasi district.



JKPCC president, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, and other senior leaders have expressed shock over the loss of seven precious lives including three minors in the road mishap. They expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the loss in a critical road accident.



Mir while expressing grief over the incident expressed heartfelt condolences to the kith and kin of those who lost their nearest and dearest once. He prayed for strength to the bereaved families to bear the loss. He said the death of three children in this tragic accident discomfort me the more.



Congress leader, Jugal Kishore Sharma, while expressing his grief over the loss of lives in the road accident. He conveyed deep sympathies and heartfelt condolences to family members and other relatives and prayed for peace to the departed soul.



They demanded that a special team of officials should be constituted to check the condition of old vehicles on roads specially in hilly and far-flung areas which is the major cause of accidents. Besides the condition of roads in the hilly terrain and other such areas should be improved.



PCC chief on behalf of rank and file of the party has expressed deep condolences and sympathies with the families of those who have lost lives, “May the departed souls find eternal peace, and prayed for earlier recovery of injured."



Meanwhile, JKPCC expressed grave and serious concern over the incident, in which Parshotam Kumar, son of Sukhdev resident of Katra, a depressed PHE daily wager on Friday purportedly committed suicide at his residence. He was in critical condition when he was brought to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for specialized treatment, Kumar had allegedly attempted suicide by setting himself on fire yesterday.



Parshotam Kumar was serving in PHE for the past 13 years after he was engaged as daily wager in 2006.



“He was not paid salary since past 32 months. He had a minor daughter and a wife at home. The deceased was not able to meet their needs due to lack of financial support. He was not paid by the department in which he gave 13 years of his life. “due to which he was not able to fulfill his family basic needs, he Committed Sucide”.



Jugal Kishore Sharma expressed deep concern over the attitude of the Govt. towards the working and the labor class who are not being paid regular wages for the last several months besides failure of the authorities to come up with their regularization policies.

He criticized the attitude of neglect to settle the genuine issue of the PHE workers and demanded that the pending salaries should be released immediately and also consider their genuine demands. ...
