DDC Jammu reviews functioning of Rural Development Department

Jammu,Janary 12 (Scoop News)- District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, today reviewed the progress being made under various schemes of Rural Development Department.

The meeting was attended by ACD Jammu, DPO Jammu, Executive Engineer Rural Engineering Wing Jammu, and all the BDOs of district Jammu.

Taking strong notice of slow progress by some blocks under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and its up-dation on the MIS, DDC directed all the BDOs to complete the release of installments of left out units and complete the registration, sanctioning and geo-tagging of all the remaining units by 17th of January.

DDC also informed the BDOs that the training programmes for the newly elected Sarpanchs in a batch of 100 will be conducted from 15th of January to 31st of January at Pachayat Bhawan Jammu followed by training of newly elected panches on 17th of February. He directed the District Panchayat Officer to make adequate arrangements for the said training programme including boarding and lodging facilities for the Sarpanchs. He also stressed upon hundred percent participation of all the Sarpanchs of district Jammu in the said training programme. Form –IV for the oath of Sarpanchs and copies of Panchayati Raj Act will be distributed and other Government schemes will be highlighted during the training programme.

DC directed all the BDOs to establish offices for newly elected Sarpanchs at every block headquarters besides asking the BDOs to use newly created Panchayat Ghars or hiring of new buildings for this purpose.

Focusing on Swachh Sundar Shauchalaya programme, Gram Panchayat Development programme (GPDP), registration of Frontline workers and block level master trainers for every Pachayat, DC directed all the BDOs to complete the formalities in time.

Deputy Commissioner directed all the BDOs to put up the updation of MIS and Geo tagging of units created under Swachh Bharat Mission on priority.

Stressing upon effective implementation of solid liquid resource management (SLRM) programme, DDC directed the officers for identification of the land block wise as the funds from the 14th finance commission will be utilised for the same;
