JKPCC holds a meeting of intellectual cell, reviews political, social and security scenario in state



Jammu, January 14, (Scoop News)-A meeting of the intellectual cell of Pradesh Congress was held here today under the aegis of the chairperson of PCC intellectual cell Smt. Zahida Khan.



The meeting reviewed the overall political, social and security scenario in the state and the country and expressed concern over the systematic erosion of democratic values and democratic institutions in the country, under the present BJP regime.



The meeting viewed that the strength of our nation lies in strong and vibrant institutions of democracy. Being the largest democracy of the world, the beauty of our democracy lies in the tolerance, accommodation and co-existence of different shades of opinions, ideas and ideologies representing varied aspirations, which together lend to the strength of our democratic system, in the pluralist society like ours.



The meeting that the intellectual class in the society has to come forward and play its role for strengthening the democratic values and its institution in order to maintain the faith of the people in the democratic system.

The intellectual section has to assert their position in the society to check the flawed approach of any force or quarter, in order to check the erosion of the established institutions and any attempt to interfere in their independent and autonomous functioning, being the pillars of the democracy in our country.



The meeting decided to expand its activities and network in various parts of the state and invited all like minded people to come forward and extend co-operation in the movement for strong, stable and progressive democratic system in the State & Country.



Prominent those who attended the meeting include B.B. Gupta, Yousuf Lone, Davinder Singh, Bimla Salathia, Anu Dogra, M.S. Mandoo and others....
