'If voted to power, interests of youth and farmers to be on top priority': JK Congress



Jammu, January 17, (Scoop News)-JK Congress will seek implementation of land acquisition law of the UPA Govt. to secure the interests of farmers in the State, Congress has said that interests of farmers and youth will be on top priority and it will seek to implement the pro-farmers land acquisition legislation framed by the UPA Govt. providing four times compensation of the land acquired.

Addressing a public meeting at Village Bhagatpur in Raipur Domana area, PCC chief, G.A. Mir, said that UPA Govt. had brought a law in the interest of farmers which provided for four times compensation of the market value of the land acquired for any project.

He was responding to the demands of the farmers whose land is being acquired for Ring Road Project but has not been provided adequate compensation.

The meeting was organized by Th. Manmohan Singh and attended Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, Ravinder Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, Hari Singh Chib, Pawan Raina and others.

Mir described politics of Modi Govt. anti-farmers and anti-poor and said that the NDA Govt. did not bother about the hardships of the farming community, poor and labour class and only protected the interests of capitalists and rich sections of the society.

He said that Congress party has always implemented policies and programmes for the welfare of common people especially poor and weaker sections of the society and it is evidence from the fact that more than seventy thousand crores were waved off during UPA Govt. besides immediate implementation of the loan waver promise for the Madhya Pradesh recently.

He said that MGNREGA Scheme launched by UPA for the poor and the poorest is a unique scheme in the world.

Mir said if voted to power the interests of youth and farmers would be on top priority and it will make pro-farmers and youth friendly policies to protect their rights and create large scale job opportunity.

He appreciated Th. Manmohan Singh and local Sarpanchs for organizing a huge gathering to mobilize support for the Congress party in the state and said that Congress will ensure justice to all sections of society in the state.
