Team Jammu felicitates Diksha for lifting Legends Cup, urges Guv to form Sports policy


Jammu, March 23 (Scoop News)-Team Jammu today felicitated daughter of soil Diksha Kapoor who has won the Maruti Suzuki Arena Devils Circuit Legends Cup (2018-2019). She has also created a record to be the youngest winner ever at national level. She was recently awarded with a Maruti Swift Car and cash prize of Rs 75,000.

While honouring Diksha Kapoor for bringing laurels and fame to state in general and Jammu in particular, during a function organized here today, Chairman, Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said that “this is another stupendous story of girl power that has emerged from our Dogra land. There is no dearth of talent in Jammu Province be it academics, culture, music or sports. But unfortunately there is no full-fledged sports policy to promote the youth to excel in such fields.”

While congratulating parents, friends and relatives of Diksha Kapoor for extended her full support to clinch Legends Cup, Zorawar Singh Jamwal wished her good luck to display here talent at international level as well. “Team Jammu has always been a platform for youth of Jammu Province and it would continue to fight for the youth at all levels. We urge Governor, S P Malik to announce a sport policy for youth of state so that they are motivated towards positivity and nation building,” stated Zorawar Singh Jamwal.

In his address, Legends Cup champion, Diksha Kapoor, said that Maruti Suzuki Arena Devils Circuit is not only the first obstacle running series of the country but the toughest and biggest obstacle run of Asia. It is a community of 2 million people. And this season they had 42000 participants. The edition includes running across a 5 kms long raw terrain interspersed with 15 military obstacles where one has to complete with the athletes across the country.

Diksha Kapoor also thanked her trainer Amit Dubey of Trance Institute of Dance and Fitness, Channi Himmat, who imparted her at least two years of regular training.

Trainer Amit Dubey informed that majorly she does calisthenics, a body weight working along with Crossfit, Yoga. She has been very sincere and dedicated for her training, never limiting her workout schedule. There are always ups and downs, but her conviction never weakened.
