Srinagar, April 24 (Scoop News)-A High Altitude Cycling Cum Mountaineering Expedition was conducted by 7 MAHAR in the Stok Range of the Himalayas in the Ladakh region at Leh from 07-24 April 2019. The adventure activity was undertaken to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Kargil War and celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the raising of 7 MAHAR.
The expedition team comprised of two Offrs, one JCO & 11 Other Ranks of 7 MAHAR who commenced the Mountain biking from Pratap Pur over treacherous terrain and steep gradients along the world’s highest motorable road and crossed Khardung La covering a distance of 167 km uptill Leh. Thereafter, the team summited the famous mountain peak Mt Golep Kangri (5950 Mtr).
The flag-in ceremony was conducted on 24 April at Fire & Fury Corps HQ, wherein Lt Gen YK Joshi, General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps congratulated the team on the successful completion of the expedition as also conveyed his good wishes to 7 MAHAR on their Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
