| Congress charges BJP of having 'opposition mukt' Bharat, terms it assault on democracy and democratic values | |
Jammu, July 11, (Scoop News)-Congress has charged that BJP wants “Opposition Mukt” Bharat which is against the basic essence and essential features of democracy, as without voice of dissent, people are the ultimate losers.
What is being witnessed all over country even after seeking huge mandate for another five years at the Centre and most of the states, is the naked drama of use of power to decimate the opposition in various parts of the Country. This philosophy of BJP is against the basic structure of democracy and the people are the ultimate sufferers, in the process, without having a voice of dissent.
JKPCC leader, Ravinder Sharma. has said that BJP wants a single party democracy and using all means to weaken the opposition parties to the extent of facing no real resistance or even dissent. The experiment would be dangerous for the democracy and people will be left no effective voice to differ on issues concerning them.
He said that during past five years BJP destabilized various state governments and converted majority in to minority by engineering defections and resignations. Even the Apex Court interventions to reverse the arbitrary decision of dismissal of Govts. did not stop them from going ahead in this direction.
However, the people of India will soon realize the dictorial and anti-democratic policies of the BJP which is having brute majority at the Centre and majority of state governments, but it is desperate to break and destabilize the opposition Govt. at all castes, Sharma added.
The party has strongly condemned the attempts of BJP and termed it open assault on democracy and democratic values and said that BJP will face the ire of people in near future, as Congress would go to the masses against such policies of BJP.
