JKPCC condoles demise of Sheila Dikshit




Jammu, July 20, (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has deeply condoled the sad demise of veteran Congress leader & former Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit who passed away today in New Delhi. She was 81.



A condolence meeting was held here today at the residence of former state chief minister and Leader of Opposition )(Ghulam Nabi Azad at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu to condole the sad demise of Sheila Dikshit.

Besides Shri Azad, President JKPCC Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Mir and other senior leaders of the party were present in the condolence meeting.

Paying rich tributes Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed deep shock over the sad demise of Smt. Sheila Dikshit and described her as a great leader of the party who was liked by one and all because of her humbleness and qualities of leadership. He said that She served as the Chief Minister of Delhi for a period of 15 years from 1998 to 2013. During her tenure, Dikshit brought in several key projects and is widely credited for development in Delhi and improvement in the city infrastructure. Azad said that her contribution shall be remembered for all time to come. He conveyed deep sympathies to the family.

PCC president, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, also paid rich tributes to her and recall her great contribution during her long public life.

Two minutes silence was observed to pray for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Azad will fly to Delhi early tomorrow morning to attend the funeral rites of the departed soul.

Prominent among those who were present and condoled the death included S/Shri Tara Chand, Madan Lal Sharma, Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, KAnta Bhan, Jugal Kishore Sharama, R.S.Chib, Ravinder Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, Balwan Singh, Ch. Shah Mohamad, Manmohan Singh, Chowhary Akram, Jahangir Hussian Mir, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Sdr. Manjit Singh, Vikram Malhotra, Ashok Sharma, Indu Pawar, Ch. Shah Nawaz, Abdul Gani, Karamat Malik, Zahid Ahmed and others....
