| 1 more negative for COVID-19; total cured reaches 10: Samphel | |
Leh,April 07 (Scoop News)-One more sample report received today is negative for COVID-19, stated Commissioner/Secretary Health UT Ladakh in today’s press conference. Now, the count of recovered patients has gone up to ten, with remaining four positive patients – 1 of Leh and 3 of Kargil district. While reports of hundred sample reports are awaited, he added.
Talking about the opening of Zojila pass, Com/Sec stated that the Zojila would be opened in a few days time for bringing in the basic commodities such as K-oil, petrol and LPG gas. This exercise would be carried out in a controlled manner with properly following the regulations of containment policy. This would further help in making plans for opening up of Zojila for traffic movement in future, he added.
Talking about the procurement of food items, Com/Sec stated that 30 tonnes of vegetable items of Tomato, Onion and Cabbage that reached today would be distributed among the general public by the Hill Councils of Leh and Kargil districts.
Responding to queries, Samphel stated that RT-PCR lab will be established at Choglamsar in a month’s time, and Rapid Test Kits are also ordered to meet test requirements in future. He then stated that, the Iran returned pilgrims who are quarantined in different parts of the country are being taken care of and the UT Administration is in touch with them for all assistance. While as, the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Health are working for the remaining pilgrims stuck in Iran, he added.
