Three tests positive for COVID-19 in Ladakh; four discharged


Leh,May 31 (Scoop News)- As per the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Service Ladakh today, three cases were tested positive for COVID-19 with two of Leh and one of Kargil district. A total of twenty-five samples were tested in COVID-19 Laboratory at Chuchot Yokma yesterday and out of these 13 samples was of Leh district and 12 samples were of Kargil district. While four COVID-19 cases of Kargil district were cured and discharged from COVID-19 hospital and were sent for home quarantine.
With this, Ladakh now has 30 active cases with 7 in Leh and 23 active cases in Kargil district.

The media bulletin further reports that first normal delivery was conducted at dedicated COVID-19 hospital in Kargil yesterday. The condition of both the mother and the baby is stable.

The Block Medical Officers of Shargole, Drass and Sankoo visited their respective containment zones to give awareness regarding COVID-19, to monitor daily household surveillance and to advise self reporting if anyone develops symptoms of COVID-19.

A total of 20 passengers were screened at Khaltsi check-post yesterday. They had come to Leh in private vehicles. All the vehicles were sanitised.

The Health workers at Upshi check-post screened 81drivers and helpers who reached Leh in 67 tankers and five trucks. All the vehicles were also sanitised.
