SaMaPa Digital Baithaks features Violin & Odissi Dance


New Delhi, July 14 (Scoop News)-SaMaPa (Sopori Academy of Music And Performing Arts) featured Odissi Dance recital by Vrinda Chadha and Violin recital by Pt. Santosh Nahar in its 2nd week of presentations.

SaMaPa, a premier music academy and educational organization of India by Music Legend Pandit Bhajan Sopori and Maestro Abhay Rustum Sopori, has taken the initiative of introducing Digital Baithak series keeping in mind the situation that the field of music and culture is facing due to Covid19 pandemic due to which programmes are not being held for last 4 months. The 2nd week of the Digital Baithak series witnessed Classical dance and Hindustani Classical instrumental recitals. Vrinda Chadha, a disciple of eminent Odissi exponent Guru Ranjana Gauhar, presented Ardhanarishwar, Lalita Lavanga Lata and Saveri Pallavi. The introduction to the Odissi dance style was presented by Guru Ranjana Gauhar. Pt. Santosh Nahar presented Raga Basant Mukhari with elaborated Aalap and Jod. The introduction to this recital was presented by Prof. Suneera Kasliwal Vyas, eminent musicologist, Sitar player & former Dean & Head, Faculty of Music, University of Delhi. The Baithaks were compered by renowned broadcaster and anchor Sadhna Shrivastav.

The first season of SaMaPa® Digital Baithak will be held on the weekends on Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Sunday mornings at 10:00 am on the SaMaPa Official YouTube Channel. Chairman Pandit Bhajan Sopori, Vice President Pt. Vijay Shanker Mishra, General Secretary Abhay Rustum Sopori and other members of the SaMaPa board have specially designed the SaMaPa Digital Baithak series, which will feature Hindustani Classical & Semi-classical, Carnatic, Dance and also Light & Folk music recitals. SaMaPa is a cultural movement acclaimed as the Cultural Bridge of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of the country and to have created a new generation of music connoisseurs. The motto of SaMaPa is ‘Jan Jan Tak Sangeet’ (music to the masses) and this Digital Baithak is intended to create a bridge between the artist and the audience worldwide.
