Advisor Sharma attends 57TH GC meeting of NCERT
highlights the initiatives taken by JK

Srinagar, October 23 (Scoop News)-Advisor to Lt. Governor, KK Shrama attended 57th meeting of the General Council of National Council For Education, Research and Training(NCERT) which was chaired by the Union Minister for Education, Ramesh Pohkriyal.
The meeting held through virtual mode was also attended by Education Ministers of different states, Director NCERT, Secretary School education, Government of India and other senior officers.
Secretary School Education, Jammu and Kashmir, B.K.Singh , Director, SCERT Veena pandita also attended.
Advisor while discussing the several initiatives taken by Jammu and Kashmir in strengthening the educational sector and also providing the students with different alternatives for imparting education said that due care was taken to ensure that the academic session of the students does not suffer. He also said that with the active support of NCERT the UT OF Jammu and Kashmir has established SCERT in Jammu and Kashmir and necessary steps are underway for strengthening it by way of providing human resources and other related things.
‘With the establishment of SCERT in UT several webinars have been held on the National Educational Policy NEP 2020 where in the challenges and opportunities were discussed besides also seeking the feedback and suggestions about its implementation’, the Advisor maintained.
The Advisor also said that Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers (ReT) have been converted into grade 2nd and 3rd and a special training under integrated Multi-Disciplinary Professional Advancement Course for Teachers( IMPACT )has finished and the second round will end in the month of November which would go a long way in ensuring capacity building of these teachers.
The Advisor also gave out that 35,142 teachers have been registered on the DIKSHA portal for undergoing training National Initiative for School Heads and Teachers Holistic Advancement Training (NISHTHA) programme, wherein the teachers have to complete 18 courses designed by NCERT.
