NYK Doda organises District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament in GDC Ramban

Jammu, March 23 (Scoop News)-Nehru Yuva Kendra Doda, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt of India organised “Neighbourhood Youth Parliament” on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat” in collaboration with NSS Unit of Govt Degree College, Ramban on 22-03-2024. Principal I/C Prof. Satish Kumar inaugurated the programme along with District Youth Officer Khushal Gupta, NSS PO Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Prof. Ram Parkash (HOD Mathematics), Prof. Chanakya Sharma (HOD Music), Dr. Rabinder Kumar (HOD Hindi) and other staff members. The programme witnessed participation of 800 youth belonging to different parts of the district.


The event started with the traditional lamp lightening ceremony followed by the welcome address by District Youth Officer Khushal Gupta. He briefed the audience about the objectives of organising such programmes and urged the youth to get registered in MY Bharat portal. All the participants were given MY Bharat badges and they registered themselves on MY Bharat portal. Prof. Ramesh Chander briefed the audience about MY Bharat portal and its relevance in the present era of digitalization. Dr. Vishal Baloria (HOD History) delivered an awareness lecture on New India - New Initiatives focussing on the various developments made by the nation during the recent years. Dr. Aashiq Hussain Malik of Political Science delivered an awareness lecture on Sports – India’s Soft corner. The volunteers of GDC Ramban participated in the Mock Parliament organised on “Nasha Mukt Bharat” thereby propagating important message of parliamentary procedures and steps taken by the govt. to make India, a drug free nation. Prominent among others present on the occasion included Prof. Neetu Sharma (HOD Dogri), Dr. Javed Sarvar (HOD Botany), Dr. Shivali Gupta (HOD Zoology), Prof. Ajay Kumar (HOD EVS), Dr. Kirpal, Dr. Javed, Ms. Ronika Devi, Dr. Abid Ali Rather, National Youth Volunteers Inshfaq Ashraf, Bittu Ram and Mohd Fayaz. The event ended with distribution of certificates and mementoes among the participants.
