Prominent youth leader Amandeep Singh joins Apni Party
Jammu,March 25 (Scoop News)-Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today expressed his dismay over the longstanding issues of the Displaced Persons (DPs)/Refugees which remained unresolved for last seven decades by the successive Govts of the traditional political parties in Jammu and Kashmir.

As per a press release, the Provincial President of Women Wing, Jammu, Pavneet Kour organized a meeting at ward number -1 in Simbal Camp in Jammu to discuss issues faced by the DPs/Refugees in J&K.

During the meeting, a prominent youth leader, Amandeep Singh joined the Party in presence of S. Manjit Singh and other leaders of the Party. While welcoming him into the Party fold, the Former Minister hoped that his joining would strengthen the Party at the grass root level, and wished he would work for the youth to resolve their issues.

In his address, he educated participants about the policy and programs for the equitable development of all the regions by protecting as well as providing opportunity to the local population in jobs.

He said that “There is desperation among the people regarding their unresolved issues especially the DPs/Refugees and the unemployed youth. However, the authorities remain unmoved.”

He said that the final package amount that was sanctioned by the then Govt of India has not been released in favour of the DPs/refugees although only Rs 5.5. lakhs have been released out of the total sanctioned package.

He said that the DPs/Refugees continue to remain under the economic constraints, and have no hope for the sustainable future of their children in the wake of the non-serious approach adopted by the authorities regarding the release of the final package.

He demanded that the DPs/Refugees have a huge population, which is settled in the border belt of Jammu plains, and the Line of Control (LoC) in Pir Panjal, has been constantly facing negligence from the authorities, and this would further create a hostile situation.

“This situation must be avoided by addressing the issues of the DPs/Refugees by releasing the pending package in their favour in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, while recalling the plights of the DPs/Refugees who have been living a life in poverty.

He demanded a comprehensive policy from the Govt for their social, economic, educational, and political upliftment in Jammu and Kashmir. “The DPs/Refugees feel that they were left unrepresented in J&K by the traditional parties, and their political aspirations must be fulfilled,” he added.

Meanwhile, Pavneet Kour, Provincial President of the Party also spoke on the occasion and referred to different developmental issues in Simbal Camp and especially in ward number -1.

The meeting was also attended by SC State President, Bodh Raj Bhagat, State President Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, Provincial President Minority Wing, Balbir Singh, Provincial President, Transport Union, Tirath Singh, Vice President Transport Union, Devinder Singh Gill, Provincial General Secretary Transport Union, Yash Choudhary, District President Minority, Jammu, Inter Paul, and others.
