Delay in promotions,Teachers will Announce Protest in Near Future -AJKLTF


Jammu, June 15 (Scoop News)-The J&K unit of the All Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Teachers Federation aft. Akhil Bhartyia Rashtryia Shakshik Mahasangh JKUT's President Devraj Thakur, has taken a serious notice of the dilly-dallying attitude of the government and attitude of neglect on the part of top officers at the helm of affairs in the School Education Department for the last over seven years, has been responsible for the worst deteriorating condition of the Education system in the JKUT. It appears that Education has remained least priority for the Administration towards the promotion of teachers in Jammu Region.
"Last three years the department have befooling teachers on the name of DPC and data verification, what is the result of this exercise, and why they have no data of teachers in the department and teachers want to know the reason,why they are denied from their Fundamental Rights" he added.

Akhil Bhartyia Rashtryia Shakshik Mahasangh J&K UT in a statement here today said that for not conducting the DPC seems that the educational and socio-economic interest of students and teachers have no place in the royal priorities of the UT Government and the officials of the Education Department.He said in this critical period, the government is keeping tight lipped and no policy has been framed for promotion of teachers last seven years.Teachers promotions are being delayed without any justification since 2014. The school teachers are facing professional loss due to the delay.

He said that All Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Teachers Federation would continue its fight outside the District Education Offices and teachers from each zone will sit in strike every day. “If the matter is not addressed in near future we would hold a massive protest in front of the Directorate of School Education Jammu” said Thakur .

The teachers will hold a symbolic dharna and protest in front of the district headquarters, keeping in view the coronavirus guidelines in near future.Leaders and workers of various District and zonal units will also be present in the protest and press their demands on the J&K government.

Thakur said if their demands are not met, a strategy will be devised by the organisation to intensify the stir.

“The government does not care about the fact that a teacher needs stability to carry on with his/her jobs in a quality manner, which cannot be sustained by repeated denial of DPC since 2014,”Thakur said.

Thakur pointed at the irregularities in the present system of promotions. He said that some teachers had been teaching in various schools for the past 24 years but had not yet been promoted without any reason, while some had witnessed thier juniors gaining superior positions by illegal means.

He said that the DPC held twice within months were a big scandal on parts of government and the officers to give the benefit to the blue eyed.They conducted DPC without any norms and verifications.
