CEC Feroz Khan chairs meeting regarding construction works of Kargil-Zanskar Road NH-301


Kargil, August 04 (Scoop News)- Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today held a meeting with the concerned officers of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) and public representatives from Ando to Parkachik pertaining to the construction of Kargil Zanskar road NH-301.
Executive Councilor for Works Aga Syed Abass Razvi, Executive Councilor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Hassan Arman Mosavi, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tsering Motup, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Abdul Gaffar Zargar, Executive Director NHIDCL Bipin Kumar Chandra, General Manager (GM) NHIDCL Colonel A K Shiva Kumar, Councilors, BDC Chairpersons and other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
During the meeting CEC Feroz Khan informed that the higher authorities of NHIDCL have accepted the proposal to reduce the existing width of the NH-301 from 60 feet to 40 feet. He requested the public representatives and BDC Chairpersons to extend their support for early start of road construction works keeping in view the short working season.
CEC Feroz Khan while taking note of the concerns of the public representatives with regard to damages to irrigation khuls near the road sides during road construction works directed the concerned officials of I&FC to hold a survey in collaboration with the experts from NHIDCL. He said that due consultation with the public representatives of respective villages should also be taken in this regard.
The CEC also directed the concerned officers of NHIDCL to construct subways or flyovers near the schools besides to shift the basic utilities like hand pumps, poles to safer places while executing road construction works.
The officials from NHIDCL assured CEC Khan that according to the rules of NHIDCL there is already provision for safeguard of the public utilities.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve assured the public representatives that for land compensation, around 180 crore have already been deposited in the Deputy Commissioner’s account, he said adding that the payment of compensation will be initiated as soon as the paper works are complete.
