| Training program on listing of historical, heritage sites held at Kargil | | Kargil, January 15 (Scoop News)-Department of Tourism and Culture UT Ladakh in collaboration with Rural Development Department (RDD) Ladakh and NIC Ladakh today conducted one-day training program for Block Development Officers (BDOs), Panchayat Secretaries for the listing of heritage sites on ‘The Ladakh Heritage App’.
Director, RDD UT Ladakh, Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Kargil, Ghulam Muhammad besides concerned BDOs, Panchayat Secretaries and concerned officers of RDD Kargil attended the program.
On the occasion, Zubdavi said that the training program has been initiated on the directions of Lieutenant Governor (LG) Ladakh and it will be instrumental in the listing of heritage sites and documentation of village history in Kargil district.
He directed that after the completion of training, concerned officers assigned should do listing of locations, photography, geo-tagging, and upload the data on website.
The director RDD said that a sub-committee at village level will also be framed regarding village history documentation and from 17 to 21 January, the trial listing will be done and after that, all assigned works must be completed at the earliest.
During the meeting, DIO, National Informatics Centre Kargil, Iftikhar Hussain conducted the training session on the use of ‘The Ladakh Heritage App’.
He detailed participants about the operation of the mobile application for listing, documentation of heritage sites and village history across the district.
