| JKPCC team visit dharna site to express solidarity with uprooted families at Roop Nagar | | Why influential are spared, poor targetted Cong questions UT adm |
Jammu,January 15 (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee Chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir led PCC leaders comprising working president Raman Bhalla Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma ,General Secretary Yogesh Sawhney, Th Hari Singh Chib,Adv Masood Chaudhari, Udey Chib president JKPYC, Pawan Raina ,Rajveer Singh ,Dr Ramakant Khajuria and others to the dharna site of agitating tribal families, uprooted in the recent action by JDA demolishing their houses and sheds.
The PCC team listened to the grievance of the agitating families and people denouncing the selective action of JDA against the poor tribal families having residential houses and cattle shed since 1947 onwards.
The PCC chief abd others expressed solidarity with them and shared the concern and resentment over the action of government and JDA against the occupants from decades while the influential continue to be in occupation and illegal possession of the land and houses on government land.
Addressing the gathering JKPCC President GA Mir lashed our the arbitrary and selective action of the government against the poor occupants who are are reported to be in occupation and the use of land for decades and said that such selective action against the poor and common people sent wrong signals and need to be dennounced.
The government and its authority must be fair transparent and such action should start from high ups and influential people occupying big chunks of land and constructed buildings. He said that why the poor downtrodden irrespective of caste Creed and colour should become the target of such harsh action leaving them houseless and shelterless in this winter and Covid-19 situation .He urged LG Manoj Sinha to personally intervene in the matter to undo the the injustice matted out to the poor tribal families who have been rendered houseless appropriate action must be taken against the culprits.
He said that Congress Party always stands and support the poor and downtrodden irrespective of caste Creed and colour and stand against injustice.
Speaking on the occasion shri Raman Bhalla said that Congress dennounces the selective action of present dispensation against the poor and downtrodden people in occupation of land decades having their residential houses and cattle sheds and earn their livelihood while the higher ups and influential go scot free. He said that action should have been initiated from the influential people occupying big chunks of government land. Expressing solidarity with the affected families he said that Congress party stand in support of all those poor and common people who are in occupation and genuine use since decades.
Such action in cold winter rendering the poor people homeless and shelterless under the open sky in this pandemic is illegal, unlawful and inhumane. He said that Congress party has always taken care of poor and downtrodden especially SC ST OBC to rehabilitate them ,the government should take immediate action for the uprooted families and their rehabilitation.
Chief Spokesperson JKPCC Mr Ravinder Sharma said that India is a welfare state where the poor and downtrodden people need to be provided shelter instead of uprooting them on selective basis in inhumane manner . He said that large number of poor families and farmers are being subjected to undue harassments, in dis- regard of the settled provisions of law and the procedures and demanded a comprehensive land policy, keeping in mind the interests of poor and farmers irrespective of caste ,creed and colour.
PCC General Secretary former minister Yogesh Sawhney stated that Government dictatorship attitude and behaviour is against the poor and downtrodden people. The government should take necessary steps to rehabilitate them immediately and desist from unlawful action against poor.
District President Jammu Rural Thakur Hari Singh Chib rendered his support to the agitating families until they are given proper justice .Congress party stands always with poor backwards and farmers.

Masood Chaudhary Advocate referred to the factual and legal postions in the matter and blamed that grave injustice has been done to them . He questioned BJP and it's leaders who claim that colonies and thousands of shelters shall be built for Gujjar Bakerwals while making hollow claims of giving lot many benefits to them but the tribals are harassed day in and day out .
Shri Udey Chib pyc president lashed out at the JDA and UT administration and assured full support to the genuine cause of uprooted families.
