Manjit Singh seeks transfer of all reserved category employees to Jammu
Chowk or Govt School in Samba be named after martyr Rajni Bala
Samba,June 26 (Scoop News)- Apni Party Provincial President Jammu and Former Minister, Manjit Singh today demanded transfer of reserved category employees who serve in Kashmir Valley to Jammu Division till the security situation improves.
In a statement to the press, Manjit Singh said that the reserved category employees and their families have been passing through a psychologically depressive situation with feeling insecurity at the place of their posting.
“It is this feeling that the reserve category employees are holding protests in Jammu and demanding their transfer to Jammu / at their respective districts keeping in view threat perception following the killing of the innocent civilians and Govt employees,” he said.
He said that “The reserved category employees were serving from last two decades in Kashmir’s far flung and rural areas and they never faced any threat to their lives since all of them were living on rented accommodations of the majority community. The majority community was cooperative.”
“Suddenly the killing of civilians, Govt officials, police and other security personnel has spread a wave of fear among the people of reserved category,” he said.
He said that these people have contributed in the field of education, revenue and other departments of Kashmir by helping the local population. However, the situation has become dangerous for the outsiders. Hence, the Govt must order transfer of the reserved category employees to Jammu’s districts till the improvement in security situation.
He said that “These people are unsafe and the Govt must not ignore their demand which is genuine in view of the existing situation in Kashmir. Their demands must be considered on humanitarian ground.”
“These people are soft targets for the militants,” he added.
Meanwhile, he demanded that a Govt school or Chowk in Samba District must be named after the martyr Govt Teacher of Kulgam, Rajni Bala in honour of her sacrifice.
He said that the Govt must identify the place or Govt school and name that institution after the name of the martyr Rajni Bala so that the future generation could remember her contribution and sacrifice for the peace.
He, however, appreciated the Govt for naming the Kulgam’s Govt School name after the name of Rajni Bala as a mark of respect. He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are united and there is no difference in their ideology.
He criticized the anti-national elements for disturbing peace in J&K and targeting the innocent people. In this situation, he said, the Govt should order immediate transfer of all the reserve category people to Jammu at their native districts for further postings.
“We shall not put more lives to risk,” he added.
