International Day Against Drug Abuse and illicit Trafficking Celebrations by CEO Srinagar


Srinagar, June 26 (Scoop News)- Today on 26th June 2022, District Administration Srinagar in Collaboration with Chief Education Office, Srinagar Organized a grand event to Celebrate International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh.
Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Mir ,ADC Srinagar graced the occasion as Chief guest and Mr.Mukhtar Ahmad Dar , District Social Welfare Officer as Guest of Honour .
Ms.Anjum Raja Deputy CEO Srinagar welcomed the guests and the Participants.
In her welcome address she thanked District Administration for supporting such events and assured them School Education Department will leave no stone unturned in eliminating Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in District Srinagar.
Deputy CEO Srinagar thanked Ms.Nusrat Bukhari Principal GGHSS Kothibagh, Srinagar for the support extended by the her and the institution in organising the said programme.
Mr.Zahoor Ahmad Mir ,ACD, Srinagar in his address said that the observance of this day aims to raise awareness about the major problems that illicit drug pose to the society at large.The main focus of organising today's event is to spread awareness among the students.
Mr.Mukhtar Ahmad Dar , District Social Welfare Officer in his address said that all youths and other participants present in today's event need to act as ambassador against the Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in their own locality as their is huge increase in the number of youths consuming Drugs.

During the event Painting Competition,Essay writing Competition and Poster Competition was held.
About 350 students and 100 teachers from various Higher Secondary Schools and High Schools (both government and private) participated in the said competition.
In the Painting Competition Muneeb from BHSS G.G Mohalla , Mohib ul Mukhtar from S.P Higher Secondary School and Danish from MPML Higher Secondary begged first , second and the third prize respectively.
In the Essay Writing Competition Fayiez Rafiq from S.P Higher Secondary School,Basila Hassan from GHSS Rajbagh and Arshika Assad from GGHS Nishat begged first, second and the third prize respectively.
In the Poster Competition Asra Siddiq from Model School Kashmir University , Insha Hassan from Syed Meerakh Shah School and Afra Bilal from GHSS Nawakadal clinched first , second and third prize respectively.
Several Consolation prizes were also awarded to the students.
The programme culminated after the 'Say Yes to Life,No to Drugs Pledge taking by all .
