Fire Service week concluded, Various competitions held at Jammu University

Jammu, April 20 (Scoop News)- Fire Service Week concluded with extempore, essay and poster competition at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium University of Jammu. The event was organized by Fire and Emergency Services, J&K in collaboration with the University of Jammu and was sponsored by J&K Tourism Department.

The Chief Guest was Dr. R.L. Hangloo, Vice Chancellor, University of Allahbad. A total of 63 students from Cluster University of Jammu and University of Jammu participated in the event. Dr Ashok Bhan, retd. DGP and Shalini Rana judged the Extempore, while Shashi Choudhary and Bela Mahajan judged the Essay Competition. The poster competition was judged by T.S. Batra, and Bushan Kesar both renowned artists from J&K. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes in extempore competition were bagged by Rashmi Ranial of govt college for women parade, farheen khalid of GMC Jammu and Tazkia Khan of Jammu University respectively. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in essay competition were bagged by Dushyant Bhardwaj of Jammu University, Shivani Badyal of Jammu University and Roopambir Singh of GMC Jammu respectively. the 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes in poster competition were bagged by Pankhuri Aggarwal of Jammu University, Heena Zargar of Jammu University and Komal of School of Sciences Cluster University

Mr. Showkat Mehmood Joint Director Tourism, Mrs. Rashmi Wazir Commandant 2nd Bn SDRF Jammu, Mrs Tajinder Kour Deputy Controller Civil Defence Samba were felicitated for their immense support and cooperation in conducting the event successfully.

DG Fire & Emergency Services, J&K V. K. Singh, IPS congratulated the Team Fire Services for conducting the programme efficiently. He highlighted the contribution of the Dr. R.L. Hangloo as an Administrator in the University of Allahabad. He thanked the VC Jammu University and the concerned faculty for making the event a success.

Dr. Ashok Bhan congratulated the students who won prizes and appreciated the efforts of the department. Dr. R. L. Hangloo Vice Chancellor, University of Allahabad appreciated the efforts of Fire and Emergency Services Department J&K. The programme was anchored by Kanwal Peshin Station officer I/C Fire & Emergency Services Station Roop Nagar and Shruti Arora a PG student from Jammu university. Vote of thanks was presented by Ist Prize winner in extempore competition.
