| Why don’t Mehbooba, Abdullahs talk of development, peace: Kavinder | |
Jammu, April 22 (Scoop News)-In a democracy, people elect their representative for Parliament and State Assembly with an objective of getting their grievances highlighted, redressed and ensure development of their areas. Every candidate of a political party goes to the public with the promise of development, progress and improving life of the people of the constituency represented by them.
Unfortunately, the ongoing election to the Lok Sabha is seeing a totally different and unexpected kind of campaigning, where leaders of NC and PDP are playing emotional cards to seek votes, instead of focussing on the much needed development and peace.
This was stated by former Deputy Chief Minister & BJP senior leader Kavinder Gupta, while questioning Mehbooba Mufti, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah to explain as to why general welfare, development and bringing peace and normalcy in valley in particular, does not matter for them.
Kavinder Gupta said that leaving aside the important issues of development and peace also exposes the Kashmir-centric, regional parties, which become active when anti-national utterances are made, some militant is killed or separatist leader abuses Indian forces. These parties target security forces to please Hurriyat and Pakistan, name their activists as Mujahideens just to gain support and vote, which is highly condemnable.
Kavinder Gupta said that the militancy in Kashmir has already suffered on development and progress plank and thousands lives have been consumed by the trained militants but none from NC and PDP have ever uttered a single word of condemnation.
The people in Kashmir should understand that peace in valley is imperative for flourishing tourism, trade and other economic activities but the said political parties are least bothered for the same. These parties should not be trusted anymore and give befitting reply in the polls.
For BJP, restoring peace and normalcy is more important than playing emotional cards or pleasing the separatists, Kavinder declared.
