Advocate Deepika to receive awards in Surry and Mumbai for her valour to ensure justice to victim’s family | |
Jammu, April 23,(Scoop News)-Advocate Deepika Singh Rajawat, who shot into prominence for fighting for justice to an eight year nomadic girl of Lassana in Kathua district, will be honoured by Indians Abroad for Pluralist India (IAPI) in Surrey on May 18.
IAPI, an organisation in Surrey is going to conduct an event to felicitate Advocate Deepika Rajawat wherein she will deliver a keynote address on the current situation in India under the nationalist Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).
Faced with immense resistance, Deepika contested Kathua rape and murder case of an eight year nomadic girl and put all her effort.ts to ensure challan and arrest of the alleged accused in the case. She stood against the then government due to which she had to face the wrath of ‘keyboard warriors’ on social media, who tarnished her image for supporting victim’s family.
Meanwhile, a Mumbai based Education Foundation has also nominated her for ‘I Am Woman’ award.
“We want to celebrate and award the inspiration of a woman. I would be delighted to have you on a panel discussion and then felicitate you with our women empowerment award,” reads the invitation.
The earlier awardees of’ I Am Woman’ included Sushmita Sen, Amruta Fadnavis, Sonam Kapoor, Leah Tata, Falguni Peacock, Malishka Mendonsa and others for their valuable contributions in their respective fields.
