DDC Budgam reviews status of Social Welfare schemes in district
Stresses on early registration of all genuine beneficiaries
Budgam, July 20 (Scoop News)-The District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting to review the status and progress of various centrally and state sponsored social welfare schemes under different categories belonging to economically and physically weaker sections and other privileged category.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, all SDMs, Tehsildars, TSOs, NYCs and other concerned.

While giving details of status of implementation of schemes the DSWO, Aqeel Ahmad said at present there are about 41000 registered cases of beneficiaries receiving monthly honorarium/ scholarships under various categories through state sponsored and other social welfare schemes.

It was also revealed that under Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) a state sponsored scheme, 75% registration of the beneficiaries has been completed who will receive assistance under Physically Challenged Persons (PCP), Women in Distress (WID) and Economically Week (EW). Similarly under centrally sponsored provision under NSAP scheme registration process is in full swing to register and provide special assistance to the beneficiaries qualified under IGNOAPS, IGNWPS, IGNDPS mandatory for BPL for both male and female genders above 60 years of age. It is mandatory the beneficiary shall be from BPL category.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed for early completion of all registration process. She emphasized that documentation process required for registration shall be downsized and done without unnecessary hiccups. All the SDMs/ Tehsildars will ensure that necessary income certificates need for registrations process shall be issued in favour of deserving ones after due scrutiny process, besides field functionaries particularly NYCs who are assigned the task of compiling the registration of left out beneficiaries shall seek cooperation and assistance from concerned Patwaris, VLWs, BLOs, GRSs, Numberdars and Chowkidars and shall submit report within weeks time.

In addition they will go to door to door and ensure that no case of any category is left out without registration.
