Plug routes of smuggling, save youth from epidemic of Drug abuse: Team Jammu to Govt
Jammu,July 23 (Scoop News)-Expressing serious concern over the reports of Drug cartels active in different parts of state especially in Jammu region and supplying drugs among youth thereby ruining their lives, Team Jammu today strongly demanded plugging of all routes of smuggling from across the border, to save younger generation from epidemic of drug abuse.

Presiding the meeting of volunteers of Team Jammu at its headquarters, here today, Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal expressed his resentment over the reports that despite claims of state police and its allied agencies dealing drug lords with iron hands, the drug mafia still active in different parts of the state and spreading tentacles as part of sinister design to completely ruin the younger generation.

“If one studies the official figures of registration FIRs and seizures under NDPS Act at micro level, it becomes crystal clear that Drug lords having their mentors sitting in Pakistan are hell bent to spoil the youth of Jammu Province as they have realized that thirty years of terrorism has completely failed in lowering the spirit of nationalism among Jammuites. And now Pakistan’s ISI agency has introduced Narco Terrorism to virtually ruin the lives of younger generation,” pointed Chairman Team Jammu and vowed not to stop its awareness campaign among the masses till Jammu region becomes a Drug free zone.

“We appreciate the record number of FIRs and seizures of drugs worth millions from different parts of the state but a million dollar question still remains unanswered that why all channels through which large contraband of drugs are pouring in from the neibouring Pakistan have not been properly plugged, despite all intelligence inputs,” highlighted Chairman, Team Jammu, further question the government that what concrete steps have been taken so far to put a proper check in several parts of South Kashmir, where narcotics are being cultivated regularly. How many FIRs have been registered so far against all those persons who are cultivating drug crops?

During the meeting, the members of Team Jammu expressed concern over the reported focus of drug lords on Jammu Province especially in Jammu, Udhampur, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch districts. They demanded stern action against all those who are supply slow poison among younger generation, irrespective of their caste, colour or creed. They also appealed to the masses especially parents to unitedly take on the fight of Team Jammu against drug mafia and save their kins before they reach and dead end.

Among others who spoke during the meeting included Rajesh Kapoor, Surinder Sharma, Chandan Datta, Rakesh Mishra, Sunil Singh Baloo, Sanjay Verma, Rishav Chalotra, Ashok Kumar, Sunil Gupta, Sunil Raipuria, Akshay Gupta, Tinu Sharma, Ashwani Gajraj, Kadam Kapoor, Badal Sharma and Vasudev Singh Chib.
