For the promotion of Honey,GoI likely to Sanction High Altitude Honey Mission
under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan in UT of JK soon


Srinagar, September 24 (Scoop News)-To review the crop- status, up to date expenditure under Capex, progress on central sponsored schemes and preparations at district level regarding availability and distribution of Rabi inputs, Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today convened an online meeting with all Chief Agriculture officers of the Kashmir Division.

While elaborating the future prospectus of honey production Director Agriculture during the meeting said, for uplifting the honey cottage industry in the UT of J&K, Government of India is likely in a process of sanctioning a project for High Altitude Honey Mission under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. He directed the Chief Agriculture Officers of Kashmir Division to analyse the priorities and be in a preparatory mode so that the mission is implemented in letter and spirit.

Director stressed upon the officers to direct their field staff to be in farmers field for educating them about the latest trends in modern agriculture. He said that the initiatives being taken by the officers and the field functionaries today will help to have long consequential effects on the progress and prosperity of the farming community.

Andrabi highlighted the importance of irrigation in the rain fed areas and directed the concern officers to reduce the area under rain fed cropping by providing a big support for the area to be brought under new irrigation initiatives by way of exploring community deep bore wells so that the farmers can have maximum yield from the area which normally eludes, by virtue of which the income of a farmer is doubled.

He directed the officers to book 100 percent expenditure with in the prescribed time period and ensure timely distribution of the rabi inputs among the farmers for hassle free agriculture operations ahead.
