Shopian encounter: BJP seeks immediate compensation for families of victims | | Jammu, September 26 (Scoop News)-Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dr Tahir Choudhary today urged Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to provide immediate compensation to the families of victims, who were killed in Shopian encounter. He said that the three labourers from Rajouri including Abrar Ahmed (25), Imtiyaz Ahmed (20) and Mohammed Ibrar (16), were killed in an encounter in Shopian by the Army on July 18 and labelled as “terrorists”. Later, the Army said that its inquiry into the killings in Amshipora village “prima facie” found that the soldiers involved had exceeded their powers under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), and that disciplinary action would be taken. Recently the DNA samples of these labourers have also matched those of their families. Although the security forces still investigating the matter but preliminary reports are suggesting that they are innocent labourers from district Rajouri. They earn to help their families to meet daily needs. After their death of 3 laborers, their families are facing difficult time and in this regard government must intervene. I urge Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Kindly give hearing to the miseries of their families and provide compensation at earliest. He also thanked Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha for his efforts and pushing authorities for fare probe. Moreover, Dr Tahir Choudhary said that he also submitting presentation to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for providing compensation to the victims’ family. ... |
