| IIIM celebrates CSIR Foundation Day | |
Jammu, September 26 (Scoop News)-The 79th Foundation Day of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the autonomous R&D organization under department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India founded way back in 1942, was celebrated here today at the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) Jammu. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the celebration in this connection was held virtually which was largely attended by eminent scientists, faculty members and research scholars.
Dr. Nilima Kshirsagar, Chairperson FDC Subcommittee, Emeritus Scientist ICMR, Secretary General Clinical Pharmacology IUPHAR was chief guest of this function who delivered foundation day lecture entitled, “Drug Discovery Development-Dismantled”.
Earlier Dr. D Srinivasa Reddy, Director, IIIM Jammu in his welcome address introduced her to the audiences and described her as leading Scientist of India who played a major role in the modern and Phytopharmaceutical drugs development. Dr. Reddy further said that Dr. Nilima Kshirsagar, an accomplished person, is one of the highly cited Indian scientists, has her work published in the journals of very high impact, chairperson of various apex bodies of research and clinical development.
On this occasion, the prizes for different activities conducted as part of foundation day celebrations were also distributed.
The institute conducted Hindi language competitions conducted from 7th to 14th September and the winners which received the prizes were : In the essay writing competition, Sumit Roy, Technical Assistant bagged First Prize; Vikas Pattiya, Assistant Section Officer won 2nd Prize whileas the 3rd prize was shared by V.K.Meena, Assistant Section Officer & Sunita Kumari, Computer Assistant. In Axioms writing competition, first Prize winner was Kamlesh Singh, Technical Assistant, Manveet Kour, Assistant Manager AcSIR secured 2nd Prize and Jyoti Prabha, Receptionist, Atul Kumar Singh, Project Assistant stood 3rd. For original work category in hindi, Ramesh Kumar, Private Secretary won first prize; Rakesh Choudhary, Junior Secretariat Assistant stood 2nd and 3rd prize went to Jyoti Prabha, Receptionist. Sunita Kumari, Sr. Secretariat Assistant Consolation, Bua Ditta, Sr. Secretariat Assistant, Jyoti, Junior Stenographer, Vikas Pattiya, Assistant Section Officer, V.K.Meena, Assistant Section Officer, Yogesh Kumar, Technical Assistant and Abhishek Gupta, Junior Stenographer were given consolation prizes.
On this occasion, the staff members who have superannuated from the council service during last one year were also honoured. They include R.K. Khajuria , Ex-Pr. Tech. Officer; Neelam Razdan, ASO (Gen.); Jasbir Singh, Sr. Technician (2); Prithvi Raj, Ex-MTS; Parshotam Kumar, Ex-Sr. Technician (2); Parveen Kant Sharma, Ex-Sr. Technician (2); Manju Sambyal, Ex-Sr. Technician (2); Om Parkash, Ex-Lab. Attendant; Dr.(Mrs.) Kanti Rekha, Ex-Pr. Tech. Officer; Dr. Vishwakarma, Ex-Director and Kusum Bali, ASO (Gen.)
Abdul Rahim received a memento on completion of 25 years of council service.
The scholarship for wards of Council employees who secured more than 90% marks in three Science Subjects in 12th class was also given. Shaunik Gupta S/O Rajesh Gupta, S.O.(G) who got more than 90% marks in three Science subjects received Rs. 3000/= as one time Scholarship.
Among many others, Er. Rajneesh Anand, Chief Scientist, Dr. D. M. Mondhe, Dr. Gurdarshan Singh, Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Dr. Anandya Goswami (Sr. Principal Scientists) Dr.Asha Chaubey, Dr.
Dhiraj Vyas, Debaraj Mukherjee (Principal Scientists), Pankaj Bahadur, Controller of Administration, Anil Gupta Finance & Accounts Section Officer and Praphul Kumar, Store and Purchase Officer were also present.
Dr. Deepika Singh conducted the proceedings whileas Er. Abdul Rahim, Head PME & IT Divisions presented the vote of thanks.
