& Save Fundamental Rights Convention at Jammu

Jammu, November17 (Scoop News)-A convention was organized by the Dalit OBC Minority Adivasi Confederation at Prem Resort, Muthi, Jammu, to discuss critical issues affecting marginalized communities. The convention was attended by delegates from all across Jammu and Kashmir.

R.K. Kalsotra, State President, highlighted the key demands which are included Conducting of Caste Census, Protect Waqf Board from unnecessary intervention, implement Mandal Commission Report in toto, stop privatization, ensure Reservation in private sector, Ensure Reservation inJudiciary, Fill vacant posts, Fair distribution of land resources , Uniform Education Policy for all children, End contracting system, religious freedom, Reservation in government-funded projects, guarantee Minimum Support Price (MSP) to farmers, Oppose ST deprivation of water, forest, and land resources, Election through ballot papers, One election in the country not an feasible idea.

The convention also addressed concerns specific to Jammu Kashmir. The Dalit OBC Minority Adivasi Confederation convention has taken a significant step by passing a resolution for the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir, while also safeguarding the rights of Refugees, Gorkhas, and Valmiki/Christian/Muslim communities brought by the Chief Minister. This move aims to address the long-standing demands of these marginalized groups.

Restoration of Reservation in Promotions
Permanently employing all daily wagers across sectors by filling vacancies from backlog of SC/ST/OBC seats, Age relaxation of 3 years should be made into 5 years for SC/ST candidates , Re-advertisement of SSRB posts meant to cover the backlog , SC/ST Atrocities Act to be monitored by a dedicated cell for fast track action, Restoration of Statehood_: The resolution seeks to restoring statehood to Jammu& kashmir, which was reduced to UT on 5th August 2019, protection of Minority Rights_: The resolution emphasizes the need to safeguard the rights of Refugees, Gorkhas, and Valmiki/Christian/Muslim communities.

By passing this resolution, the Dalit OBC Minority Adivasi Confederation has reaffirmed its commitment to social justice and equality. The convention's outcome is expected to have far-reaching implications for the marginalized communities in Jammu and Kashmir.

Further, a resolution was also passed that the delegates will join a Maharally at Ramleela Maidan, New Delhi, on December 1st to safeguard the Constitution, democracy, and fundamental rights.
