Kargil, September 06 (Scoop News)-Mr. Jaffar Ali, a 1st Semester student of Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil, represented GDC Kargil in the National Sports Day 2026 and Youth Engagement Month celebrations and secured 3rd position in the Men’s 1000m Athletics event, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh.
He will also represent GDC Kargil in the 11 KM Ladakh Marathon 2026, scheduled to be held on 13 September 2026.

Zanskar, September 06 (Scoop News)-Students of Government Degree College (GDC) Zanskar, Stanzin Zomskit and Chunith Zangmo secured silver medals in the Inter-District Athletics competitions held on September 5 and 6 at Astro Turf Ground, Khel Gaon Kurbathang, Kargil, as part of the Ladakh Sports Festival 2026.
Stanzin Zomskit, 5th Semester, secured 2nd position in the Girls' 1500m with a timing of 6:47.91, while Chunith Zangmo, 5th Semester, secured 2nd position in the Girls' 10000m.
