Congress- welcomed decision to invite experts team to access covid situation in Jammu amidst high mortality rate

Jammu, May 14 (Scoop News)- Congress has welcomed the decision to appoint a team of experts to access the Covid situation in Jammu hospitals amidst high mortality rate and large number of daily casualties for the last several days.
The party said it is a right decision and should have been taken much earlier but it rekindled hope that it may help improve the situation to save precious lives , JKPCC said .
The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress committee had asked the government, last week, itself, to invite a team of experts from AIIMS and PGI Chandigarh to ascertain the causes of more deaths in Jammu.
The issue was also raised with the LG Manoj Sinha on Monday when the LG spoke to PCC President G A Mir and Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma inviting suggestions and support.
The Congress- had impressed upon the LG that several reports of shortcomings on various fronts in the GMC and other hospitals are being reported by the media which need to be cross checked and improved apart finding out reasons for more deaths as compared to Kashmir and other parts in order save lives and minimise sufferings during treatment to patients.
Although this should have been done earlier but is a welcomed step in the wake of continued high rate of casualties in Jammu and elsewhere in the region and the urgent need to arrest the same besides upgrading facilities. All possible steps should be taken on war footing to save the precious lives and minimise the sufferings to the people, JKPCC Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said, urging people to fully co-operate the administration and health authorities and strictly follow the guidelines..
