Majority COVID19 patients not getting the benefit of Golden Cards: Ch. Zulfikar
Seeks free of cost treatment to COVID patients under Ayushman Bharat

Rajouri, May 14 (Scoop News)-Apni Party, Vice President, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali today urged Govt to provide golden cards to the left out people particularly in the wake of spike in covid19 cases in J&K.
In his statement to the press, Ch. Zulfikar Ali said that the Govt must ensure that the covid infected people can get the benefit of the golden cards as majority of the population still do not have Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards.
He said that “Even as all J&K residents are impaneled for health insurance coverage of Rs 5 lacs/family. However, most of the population is still without Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards.”
He further said that it is imperative amid the present covid situation in J&K; it is need of the hour to generate Golden Cards for each covid19 patent on their admission to the hospitals by dedicating Arogya Mitra to Isolation Wards and treat each of the covid patents under Ayushman Bharat.
He expressed concern over the claims about the success of the health scheme and questioned on its progress on ground claiming that people are not getting benefits of the scheme even at the time of covid pandemic.
He said that many of the essential drugs and logistics required in treatment of COVID19 patient as recommended by AIIMS & Govt of India are not available in Govt hospitals, which can be easily procured or refunded under Ayushman Bharat. If the COVID parents are given benefit of the scheme, each patient would get treatment free of cost.
In this pandemic situation, Ch. Zulfikar Ali urged Lt Governor J&K Manoj Sinha to direct Health Dept. to give benefits of Golden Cards to each COVID patient.
“The Golden Cards should be issued in favour of those COVID patients who do not have these cards to benefit from the GoI scheme under Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme,” he added.
He appreciated the doctors and paramedical staff members for their dedication towards the work in this difficult situation. He however alleged that the doctors and paramedical staff are also facing problems because of poor management and inability of the health Dept with regard failure in maintaining proper oxygen supply, increasing number of covid deaths in Govt hospitals, and no control over the infiltration of medicines and oximeters.
“The oximeters and covid medicines have gone out of stock from the market compelling the patients in home isolation to suffer more,” said Zulfikar Ali.
He demanded a proper investigation into the cause of deaths in Govt hospitals even after claims of the Dept. that they have provided maintained oxygen supply and other emergency things required to fight against COVID19.
He said that “It seems there is poor coordination which has put the lives of the COVID patients, doctors and paramedical staff in danger."
