Recovery rate 87%, positivity rate, bed occupancy on decline: DC Anantnag
Anantnag, June 09 (Scoop News)-The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today said that the recovery rate for Covid patients has improved by a significant margin of about 17 percent from 70 to 87 percent during last week with positivity rate reducing to 3.5 percent from 7 percent and bed occupancy also decreasing substantially during the same period.
The DC said this while briefing about the Covid-19 situation and the measures taken to curb the spread of infections in the district.
Speaking on the ongoing vaccination process, the DC said the inoculation drives have been intensified across the district and appealed to eligible people to get vaccinated at an earliest.
He also informed that the testing has been ramped up and the focus is on high contact areas like markets, mandies, main roads etc besides aggressive sampling is being followed in clusters/containment zones.
Hailing the efforts of Healthcare Workers and officials of line departments for reaching out to inoculate people in hilly and upper areas, Dr. Singla said that their dedication has provided a major boost to the vaccination process in the district.
He also impressed upon all stakeholders to follow rosters and regulatory measures regarding markets, transport etc issued by administration and expressed hope that with active cooperation from all sections of the society the situation will improve further.
The DC, however, cautioned the people not to get complacent over the improving situation and advised them to follow CAB strictly. Emphasising the importance of SOPs, he said they become even more important in the unlock phase when chances of exposure to virus increase adding appropriate fines are being imposed on the defaulters.
