Young women should set up self employment ventures through 'Tejaswani': Rekha

Jammu, July 21 (Scoop News)- Stating that the Union Government under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has launched dozens of such schemes which exclusively focus on socio-economic upliftment of the womenfolk, Jammu and Kashmir, BJP, Secretary, Rekha Mahajan, said that in J&K, the UT government too, is taking care of the unemployed women by providing them opportunities to become self dependent.
Rekha Mahajan, while highlighting one of the recently launched 'Tejaswani' scheme under Mission Youth, J&K, said that the broad objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the young women of 18 to 35 years of age for setting up gainful self-employment ventures which suits to their skills, training, aptitude and local conditions. She said that the desiring Female Entrepreneurs can avail assistance from J&K Bank under Mudra Scheme to the extent of Rs 5.00 lakh. Mission Youth shall provide an amount of Rs. 50,000 or 10% of project cost as subsidy. In addition to this, the interest component of the loan shall also be sponsored by Mission Youth as special incentive. The repayment of loan will technically be interest free for the young female entrepreneurs who apply for assistance under the scheme.
Rekha further said that eligibility criteria including Domicile Certificate and qualification of 10th or above, is part of the minimum simplified formalities and added that the women fulfilling the prescribed criteria should come forward to avail the benefit of this scheme and become an entrepreneur instead of sitting idle and waiting for the government job.
The BJP Secretary also mentioned that during the last seven years of BJP government under the stewardship of PM Narendra Modi, special attention has been paid on such programmes and welfare schemes, which particularly aimed at making the women self reliant, lead dignified life and contribute in nation building.
Modi’s push for women empowerment reflects a commitment which is visible while going through schemes and policies exclusively for them.
From Ujjwala Scheme, under which poor women get free LPG connections or construction of toilets, to the bill criminalizing instant Triple Talaq, all point towards the concern for 'Naari Shakti'.
Rekha Mahajan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as he has always pitched for “women-led development” and wants to ensure participation of women in every field and are equal partners in the development of country, too showcased in new Council of Ministers, where 11 women were inducted in his cabinet.
