| KVKs of SKUAST-Jammu awarded By ICAR | |
Jammu, July 21 (Scoop News)-Krishi Vigyan Kendras of SKUAST-Jammu working under the leadership of Prof. J. P. Sharma Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, have been awarded by Agricultural Technology Research Institute (ATARI) - Zone I ICAR Ludhiana for their commendable contribution in the field of agriculture and allied sectors during the Annual Zonal Workshop of KVKs 2021.
Workshop was organized by ICAR-ATARI, Zone-I with the objective to review the work carried out by KVKs of Zone-1 during previous year and approval of Annual Action Plan for the year 2021-22.
Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu and SKUAST-Kashmir appreciated the efforts of all the KVKs of SKUAST-Jammu for delivering their best to the farmers’ of the region and further advised them to work with same zeal and zest in future also. Professor Sharma congratulated team of KVK Jammu and KVK Reasi winning the award during the workshop.
KVK Jammu, headed by Dr Punit Choudhary (Sr Scientist) was awarded for best presentation and KVK Reasi, headed by Dr Banarsi Lal (Sr Scientist) were awarded for best KVK award during the Zonal Workshop.
Both the awards were presented to them for their excellent work during the year 2020-21. KVK Jammu is working on preservation and improvement of RS Pura Basmati-370, Aquaculture, Medicinal fruits, Processing and value addition, exotic and off season vegetables under protected cultivation, rainfed agriculture etc whereas KVK Reasi is working on Value addition, Organic production of Honey and other Agricultural produce, Floriculture, medicinal and aromatic plants etc.
