| J & K LG to Inaugurate Five-Day Online Orientation Program at IIM Jammu on July 22 | |
Jammu July 21 (Scoop News)- Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu commences its Five-Day orientation program, through online mode, from 22nd -26th July 2021, for the 2nd batch of Ph.D. Program and the 6th batch of MBA.
The purpose of the orientation program is to familiarize incoming students with IIM Jammu systems, processes, procedures, and general rules to make them comfortable and adapt faster to the new environment. It will facilitate the initial academic introduction and course selection. Students will get acclimatized to the current requirements and changes adopted by the institute due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and become aware of the virtual facilities. Orientation programs helps create an atmosphere that reduces anxiety, encourages a positive attitude, and stimulates enthusiasm for learning. It provides a welcoming environment for students and their families to meet and have open communication with the faculty, staff, senior students, new students, and key activity heads of the Institute. As a result, students will better understand the purpose of academics and course selection and become accustomed to the institutes processes. They will feel confident and thrilled about their decision to join IIM Jammu. Also, they will gain exposure by listening and learning from the experiences shared by various esteemed guests.
During the orientation program, each day will start at 7:30 AM with Yoga session conducted by Mr. Nithin Kumar Varada, Yoga and Meditation Trainer. It is imperative to build strength, awareness as well as harmony in both mind and body to cope up with the rigor and challenges of the program and also the impact of COVID-19.
A formal inauguration of the orientation program has been planned on Day 1 of the orientation program. Dr. Milind Kamble, Chairman, BoG, IIM Jammu will preside over the Inaugural Function. The Chief Guest Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lt. Governor, J&K will give inaugural address.. Prof. Shakti Gupta, Director AIIMS Jammu, will be the Guest of Honor. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu will deliver the welcome address.
