BJP committed to empower women of J&K: Kavinder
Hails LG for launching ‘Online Building Permission’ System

Jammu, July 21 (Scoop News)- Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Kavinder Gupta has reiterated that Bharatiya Janata Party is fully committed to fully empower the women of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement issued to media here today he said that it was really an irony of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir that the women remained deprived of significant rights for decades.
Referring specifically to deprivation of property rights to women who married a person from outside the erstwhile state, the BJP leader said it is due to relentless efforts BJP Govt led by Narendra Modi at the centre that their rights have been restored after abrogation of Art 370 and 35A. As of today the daughters and their spouses will be able to get ownership rights of their already existing properties besides the properties which they now purchase in J&K UT. He said that as a result of Centre’s focussed attention to the issues of women of J&K, now the husband of a woman married to a person outside J&K is entitled to get a Domicile Certificate of this Union Territory. He appreciated the Union Territory administration led by LG Manoj Sinha for further augmentation of the schemes and projects for women empowerment aimed at their skill development besides encouraging them for entrepreneurship.
The former Dy CM also welcomed the launching of ‘Online Building Permission’ system by the Lt Governor that will simplify the building permission process within defined timeline of 21 days. This undoubtedly will provide respite to the people seeking permission for construction besides bringing in the much needed transparency in the system, he asserted. He said that the UT administration is relentlessly working to ensure over all development of Jammu and Kashmir with focus on the interventions made by the Government to strengthen the governance framework and make it more transparent.
Kavinder Gupta said, now people can track the application status, get NOCs, make fee-payment through online mode and receive real-time alerts, resolution of complaints and this has resulted in ease of living for the common man. He assured that more such initiatives to bring transparency in the working of administration will come in future aiming to transform governance of this UT completely into a people friendly system.
