Satwant urges LG for rollback of disengagement order of ICDS workers

Jammu, September 14 (Scoop News)-Provincial President National Conference Women Wing Satwant Kaur Dogra on Tuesday slammed the government over the disengagement of the services of 918 women Helpers and Supervisors under the ICDS scheme of Social Welfare Department and urged the Lieutenant Governor Mr Manoj Sinha to rollback the order.
Terming the decision of disengagement as unfortunate, Satwant Kaur Dogra said that at a time when unemployment levels are rising in Jammu and Kashmir and the educated boys and girls are struggling with neglect due to lack of job-creation policy of the government, such a decision to render those jobless, who were already in employment, can prove disastrous.
She added that terminating the services of 918 women workers at ICDS has not only snatched away the livelihood of the workers but also left their families, their children and their ailing parents in distress.
Satwant Kour Dogra said that Jammu and Kashmir has been plunged into an uncertain and frightening chaos of bureaucratic mis-governance and the common man is bearing the brunt of such ruthless use of power unleashed by the present regime.
“Every day we are witnessing bizarre, and uncalled for diktats masquerading as official decisions. Such unilateral measures taken without compunction are proving lethal for the administrative set-up built over the years by able, veteran and hardworking administrators of the past,” she said.
Satwant Kour said that the BJP government promised investment, jobs, and prosperity to the region. The reality is entirely different on the ground from what was and is being said by the government. The life of the people of Jammu has been ruined by the BJP post August 5, 2019. She said that the residents of Jammu are feeling cheated by the ruling party as BJP exploited their “nationalistic feelings” and “patriotism”. With every new rule that the government is implementing in Jammu and Kashmir, resentment among the people is growing. The business community of Jammu has also realized that whatever was promised to them by BJP, exactly the opposite has happened.
