Manjit Singh seeks restoration of Statehood before assembly polls in J&K
Udhampur, September 15 (Scoop News)-Apni Party, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh has sought restoration of Statehood before holding of assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
A district committee meeting was chaired by Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh in Udhampur to discuss organizational issues, membership drive, developmental and unemployment issues of the said district.
The meeting was attended by District President, Udhampur, Hans Raj Dogra, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta, SC State Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat, President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Manjit Singh impressed upon the party leaders and workers to work with dedication among the people and connect with the people in remote areas.
He said that the membership drive should be followed aggressively and people should be made aware about policies and programmes of the party which are focused on development, unity and equality.
Referring to the concerns of people, he said that the Apni Party will leave no stone unturned for the restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
"It is commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the party will fight till the last for the restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. The downgrading of a Dorga state is a sentimental issue for the people who seek early restoration of Statehood," he said
Addressing leaders and workers, Manjit Singh said that the people are unrepresented and they largely remained away from the Govt.
"The officials have not been able to win the confidence of the people. The alienation is growing among the people because of a bureaucratic attitude which has undermined the importance of the public. The poor people are among the worst sufferers in these last three years. Time has come when the Govt should hold assembly elections to restore the lost confidence of the people. There is disappointment and hopelessness among the people which needs to be redressed as early as possible," added Manjit Singh while asking the leaders and workers to work on the ground.
Meanwhile, District President, Udhampur referred to organizational issues and membership drive.
Besides, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath also spoke on various issues and demanded development in rural areas.
He also expressed concern over the worst condition of road connectivity and health services.
